I ended up making this as a side for our hamburgers when the neighbors came over this past weekend since it takes awhile in the oven. With all the ingredients, you actually could use this for sloppy joes or even throw it on top of your hot dogs.
Not knowing until I started making it that it was going to be a lot, we now have leftovers for our next meal.
Ingredients:
1 lb. ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
1 bell pepper, seeded and chopped
2 (15 oz.) cans pork and beans
1/2 cup barbecue sauce
1/2 cup ketchup
2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 Tbsp. soy sauce
4 Tbsp. brown sugar
6-8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
What To Do:
- Preheat oven to 350 F and spray your baking dish with nonstick cooking spray
- Brown ground beef, onion and bell pepper
- Add pork and beans along with everything else, but the bacon
- Stir well and cook for a couple of minutes
- Pour into your baking dish
- Top with the crumbled bacon and cover with foil
- Bake for 45 minutes
- Remove foil and then bake for another 10 minutes
- Let beans stand for 5 minutes before serving
